About Us
The Alliance For Women and Girls (AFWAG)Â is a network of independent organisations across Africa, united in the mission to create a world where every woman and girl can thrive. AFWAG aims to serve as the vital catalyst that empowers and amplifies the efforts of leaders and organisations committed to achieving gender equity and empowerment.
By focusing on supporting the leadership capabilities of organisations and individuals, we strive to enhance their resilience and impact, fundamentally changing the landscape of gender equity across the continent.
Our Work
Leadership Development
We work in partnership with leaders to support their unique growth journeys. We co-create opportunities and empower leaders to drive the change they envision for their communities.
Fostering Collaborative Networks (Mushandirapamwe Spirit)
We create spaces where gender-focused organisations, despite their differences, can connect and share knowledge, resources, and strategies.
Strengthening Organisational Capacity
We focus on building the operational capacity and sustainability of local organisations by working alongside them to strengthen their foundations.
