Through their efforts, they focus on raising awareness about climate justice, empowering local communities to take action against environmental challenges, and ensuring that youth are equipped with the skills and knowledge to lead sustainable development initiatives.

Hawa Feminist Coalition
Hawa Feminist Coalition is a feminist organisation founded in 2018 by young women and girls in Somalia. It is committed to promoting the safety, equality, and rights of women and girls in Somalia. The coalition mobilises and connects young women and girls, building strong collective strength to work towards gender equality and dignity for women in the community. Hawa Feminist Coalition has mobilised over 800 young women and girls, established 31 grassroots feminist groups, and provided leadership training to 220 young feminist activists who are leading social change at the local level.

Somali Defenders
Somali Defenders promotes and protects human rights, social justice, and democratic development in Somalia, with a strong focus on women’s empowerment and child protection. The organisation raises awareness on critical issues such as gender-based violence, female genital mutilation (FGM), and child marriage, fostering a supportive environment for women and girls. Through advocacy training and resources, Somali Defenders equips women with the skills to participate in decision-making processes and influence policies affecting their lives. The organisation also champions increased representation of women in governance, economic sectors, and leadership, driving progress towards gender equality and social justice.
