African Network for Women in STEM (ANWiSTEM) is dedicated to advancing gender equity in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across Africa. Through capacity building, mentorship, and advocacy, ANWiSTEM empowers women with the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to thrive in male-dominated fields. Its Leadership Fellowship equips women with leadership and personal branding skills, while policy engagement—such as contributions to the Engineering Professional Bill 2024—ensures systemic change. ANWiSTEM also leads advocacy campaigns against gender discrimination in STEM and partners with institutions like Makerere and Kyambogo Universities to support women’s career development and professional success.

Bulamu Access Foundation

Bulamu Access Foundation works to improve the well-being of women and families in rural Uganda by providing comprehensive maternal and reproductive healthcare services. Focused on reducing maternal mortality and promoting healthy pregnancies, the foundation operates community-based clinics in underserved areas. Their educational initiatives cover family planning, menstrual hygiene, and prenatal care, empowering women and girls to make informed health decisions. Bulamu Access also advocates for gender equality and women's rights, partnering with local communities, policymakers, and advocacy groups to promote reproductive health and support sustainable healthcare solutions for all.

Community Health Empowerment Ministry Partnership Uganda, Diocese of Kinkiizi

Community Health Empowerment Ministry Partnership Uganda focuses on alleviating human suffering and addressing vulnerabilities within communities. Through skills development, self-help projects, and mentorship, the organization empowers women by fostering integrity, trustworthiness, faithfulness, and transparency. They aim to mobilize resources equitably and collaborate with other stakeholders to secure funding opportunities. Their work is centered around creating sustainable community health initiatives that enhance the well-being of individuals, particularly women, and foster a collaborative approach to health and development in Uganda.

Foundation for Orphans and Vulnerable Communities in Uganda ( FOVC Uganda)

The Foundation for Orphans and Vulnerable Communities in Uganda (FOVC Uganda) empowers vulnerable children and women in Northern Uganda through education, skills training, and economic support. The organisation provides mentorship and essential resources to help girls remain in school, promoting their rights and preventing early marriages and teenage pregnancies. Women receive business and vocational training, startup support, and financial literacy guidance to enhance self-reliance. Community support initiatives include counselling, group savings programmes, and family assistance, ensuring sustainable livelihoods. FOVC Uganda strives to create a future where vulnerable communities have the opportunities and resources needed to thrive.

Hands to Save Ugandan Children

Hands to Save Ugandan Children is committed to providing vulnerable children and individuals across Uganda with access to education and essential services. The organisation focuses on mentoring and sponsoring vulnerable children, particularly girls, and empowering women with entrepreneurship skills. Through these initiatives, Hands to Save Ugandan Children aims to create opportunities for a brighter, more inclusive future for the most disadvantaged members of society.

Her Story Uganda

Her Story Uganda is committed to educating, empowering, and inspiring women and girls by amplifying their voices through storytelling. The organisation uses media to highlight women’s experiences and represent their realities. In 2023, Her Story mentored five young female journalists who are passionate about gender equity and dedicated to breaking barriers for women and girls in journalism. By giving a platform to women’s stories, Her Story fosters change and encourages a more inclusive and equitable media landscape in Uganda and across Africa.

Ibanda Girl Child Care Initiative

Ibanda Girl Child Care Initiative is dedicated to supporting poor girls and women in the Rwenzori region by improving their income, living conditions, and defending their rights. The organisation focuses on education, health, child protection, and institutional development. Through training and collaboration with various organisations, they empower families and institutions, helping them thrive. With established offices and equipment, Ibanda Girl Child Care Initiative continues to build capacity and drive positive change, fostering confidence and growth within the community.

Isabel Childrens Foundation Uganda

Isabel Children Foundation Uganda empowers vulnerable children and young girls living in poor communities across Uganda and East Africa. Through education and enrichment programs, the foundation focuses on providing access to quality learning opportunities for children in villages and slum areas. By partnering with organizations like UNICEF, Plan International, and World Vision, Isabel Children Foundation strives to create a brighter future for marginalized children, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential.

Msichana Uganda

Msichana Uganda empowers adolescent girls and young women by providing capacity development, advocacy, and civic education, with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The organisation trains young women, particularly those affected by teenage pregnancy, in tailoring skills and incorporates them into a sustainable production chain for high-quality reusable sanitary pads. This initiative supports both the economic independence of these women and the education of girls by providing a reliable, eco-friendly solution to menstrual hygiene. Additionally, Msichana Uganda offers financial literacy training, helping over 3,200 women gain access to financing and achieve business sustainability.

MWALA

MWALA is dedicated to empowering women, particularly mothers, in Budaka District, Uganda, to address home-based livelihoods and respond to the increasing responsibility of home-building. By focusing on empowering mothers, MWALA believes that these women will, in turn, influence and support their daughters, especially adolescent girls and young women, who are vulnerable to HIV infections and SRHR abuses. The organisation works closely with larger CSOs and local governments to promote self-defence and advocacy, tackling food insecurity, menstrual hygiene, and economic dependency to reduce vulnerability and strengthen community resilience.

Ogandaze African Foundation

Ogandaze Africa Foundation is dedicated to breaking the cycle of extreme poverty and unemployment among refugees and marginalized communities in Uganda’s Kamwenge District, Rwamwanja Refugee Settlement. Since 2022, we have empowered women, girls, men, and youth by fostering entrepreneurship, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods. Our initiatives create decent employment opportunities, particularly for rural women and youth, equipping them with business skills, savings group support, and agribusiness training to achieve economic independence. Through networking and linkages, we strengthen local economies, ensuring access to productive and safe working conditions. We envision a future where every community is self-reliant, thriving, and free from poverty.

Pa Maa Education Initiative Uganda

Pa Maa Education Initiative Uganda is committed to enhancing inclusive access to quality education through advocacy, skills development, and community engagement in Northern Uganda. Our work focuses on girls’ education, health, and women’s empowerment, ensuring that young women receive academic support, career guidance, and leadership mentoring to overcome barriers and achieve their full potential. Through creative community workshops, we engage girls and boys in discussions on gender equality using art, drama, sports, and storytelling, challenging harmful societal norms and fostering a culture of inclusivity. By promoting education and empowerment, we inspire lasting change for girls and their communities.

Queen Elizabeth Medical Foundation

Queen Elizabeth Medical Foundation (QEMF) is committed to providing high-quality, family-centred healthcare in Kanungu District, Uganda, with a focus on the needs of adolescent girls and young women. Their comprehensive services include reproductive health care, sexual education, mental wellness support, and maternal health initiatives. QEMF empowers women and girls through educational workshops, counseling, and community outreach, advocating for policies that protect their rights. Their efforts also include training health workers in adolescent reproductive health, conducting family planning outreaches, and improving maternal and child health outcomes. QEMF strives for a future where gender equality and health equity are a reality for all.

Re-Build Scholars

Re-build Scholars is dedicated to nurturing a generation of youth in Uganda by providing access to quality education and comprehensive talent development. Through its advocacy program, the organisation has significantly enhanced the abilities and competencies of girls, leading to a 60% increase in knowledge of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). It has empowered 40% of girls to lead decision-making processes, increased leadership representation by 30% in schools and communities, and supported 3% of girls in establishing individual community projects. These efforts aim to transform communities by fostering capable, knowledgeable, and proactive youth leaders.

Refugee Empowerment for Sustainable Development in Africa

RESDA is dedicated to empowering refugee and host communities in Kyaka II Refugee Settlement, Uganda, through skills training and sustainable development initiatives. RESDA offers vocational training, particularly tailoring, to women and girls, equipping them with income-generating skills and fostering economic self-sufficiency. Their programs also include adult literacy, early childhood education, livelihood support for youth, and agricultural practices.

Resilient Action Organization

Resilient Action Organisation is committed to transforming communities in Eastern Uganda by preventing early marriage and child sexual exploitation. The organization focuses on rescuing girls who are at risk of forced marriages and sexual work, while also empowering families to break the cycle of these harmful practices. Through advocacy, education, and community engagement, Resilient Action Organisation works to raise awareness and promote the rights of girls, ensuring they have the opportunity to live free from exploitation and pursue a brighter, more dignified future.

Roots of love foundation

Root of Love Foundation is dedicated to ensuring every child has access to education and basic needs in vulnerable communities in Bulange subcounty, Namutumba district. The foundation focuses on providing scholastic materials, sanitary equipment, and menstrual hygiene education to girls, aiming to reduce school dropout rates, particularly for girls, by improving their access to education. Through training on sexual reproductive health, gender equality, and providing sanitary pads, Root of Love empowers girls to understand and appreciate their bodies while ensuring they remain in school and continue their education regardless of financial and social challenges.

The Foundation for Community Development and Empowerment (FCDE)

FCDE strengthens grassroots organizations in rural Uganda, fostering sustainable development and community-led change. Through the Elevating Women Leaders program, FCDE equips women working with local partners in Kasese and Rukungiri with leadership skills, mentorship opportunities, and professional networks. Participants gain translatable skills that empower them in both their personal and professional journeys while creating pathways for mentoring young women within their communities. By investing in the capacity of women leaders, FCDE enhances their ability to drive meaningful change, ensuring stronger, more resilient communities across Uganda.

Urban Women Initiatives

Urban Women Initiatives envisions a society where indigenous women and girls in Moroto, Karamoja, can thrive, free from injustice and equipped with the skills to shape their futures. We promote education, economic empowerment, and climate action by ensuring access to quality learning, vocational training, and sustainable environmental practices. Through advocacy and skills development, we empower indigenous communities to demand their rights and create opportunities for self-reliance. By fostering leadership and resilience, Urban Women Initiatives is building a future where women and girls can reach their full potential and drive meaningful change in their communities.

Wezesha Women Initiative

Wezesha Women Initiative (WEZESHA) empowers women and girls by tackling gender-based violence and fostering economic independence. In Kyangwali Refugee Settlement, our Social Protection Program shifts harmful social norms through awareness campaigns, community engagement, and support services, including counseling, legal aid, and safe shelters for survivors. Our Women Economic Empowerment Program equips women with life skills, entrepreneurship training, seed capital, and mentorship, enabling financial independence. Additionally, our Emergency Relief Efforts provide urgent aid such as hygiene kits, food, and scholarships, ensuring the well-being and dignity of vulnerable women and girls.
