Our Network
The Alliance For Women and Girls is a regional non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls by providing support to social entrepreneurs and organisations advancing issues affecting women and girls in Africa.
The Alliance For Women and Girls is a network of independent organisations across Africa, each dedicated to creating a world where every woman and girl can thrive. Our shared vision is a society where gender equality is the norm, and all women and girls live free from discrimination, violence, and poverty. Despite significant challenges like limited access to resources, isolation, and burnout, numerous leaders and organisations across the continent strive toward these goals.
AFWAG aims to serve as the vital catalyst that empowers and amplifies the efforts of leaders and organisations in Africa committed to achieving gender equity and empowerment by focusing on three core areas:
Leadership Development. We prioritise developing leaders who can drive sustainable, community-focused gender equity initiatives and ensure that their efforts lead to meaningful change.
Knowledge and Resource Hub. We prioritise the exchange of knowledge and best practices to build capacity and drive progress across our network.
Movement Building (Mushandirapamwe Movement). Our ‘Mushandirapamwe’ spirit emphasises the power of collaboration and shared learning to achieve collective impact.
Our mission is to enhance the impact of those committed to gender equity. We foster an ecosystem where leaders are not only operational but thrive and drive transformative change in partnership with their communities.
We believe we are more effective in achieving our objectives when we work together.
By joining AFWAG, you will become a part of – and strengthen – the efforts towards achieving the ultimate dream of an equitable world where every woman and girl in Africa can lead a life free from discrimination, violence, and poverty.
